Licking County, OH - 2008 Democratic Platform Meeting (Platform Meeting)
Every four years, the Democratic Party assembles a "platform" that outlines the party's position on a variety of issues. Traditionally, the platform is written by paid professionals and then presented to the American people. This year, that's going to change. Sen. Obama's campaign is asking that people from all across America hold Platform Meetings to talk about what issues are most important to them and what should be at the heart of the Democratic platform for change. The results of these Platform Meetings will be incorporated into the formal process that culminates in the adoption of the platform at the Democratic Convention in August. This meeting will give the people in Licking County, Ohio a forum to have OUR voices heard in this process. Also, we will discuss how we can begin making a difference for Sen. Obama's campaign here in Licking County. If you are interested in seeing the kind of positive changes in this country that Sen. Obama is campaigning for, you will definitely want to attend this meeting. It is very important that we have input from people of all walks of life in our area. You'll leave the meeting with new information about how easy it really is to help Sen. Obama's campaign here in Licking County. Sen. Obama's success in Licking County will lead to his success in Ohio, which will lead to his success in winning this most-important election. Please plan on joining us for this meeting. But if you can't make it, go ahead and register saying you cannot attend. We will be able to contact you later with more information. This is a tremendous grassroots campaign that Sen. Obama is running, and all of us can make a BIG difference, regardless of how small our individual contributions may be. Help spread the word about this meeting to everyone you know in the area. We need to get as many people as possible to support Barack Obama on November 4, and I know you can help make it happen!
